On our way from Franz Josef we made a stop at Lake Matheson a.k.a. Mirror Lake and went for the walk around it and then had our lunch in the lovely cafe next to the lake. It was a gorgeous walk with a great view of Mt. Aoraki (Mt. Cook) and Mt. Tasman in the background. From there we headed to Wanaka with a few other stops on the way..
Continuing our drive from Lake Matheson, we had our next stop at Thunder Creek Waterfall, where we got to take a few photos and have a quick look around. Afterward we made the rest of our trip to Wanaka where we stayed for one night. It was nice weather so a lot of us spent most of our time at the beach enjoying the view and watching the sunset and the occasional ducks.
The next day we drove to Queenstown with a stop just at the edge of Wanaka to go to Puzzling World which was quite an interesting place and somewhat fun 🙂 We started of with trying out their outdoor maze where we had to get to all four corners and get up into the towers. Then we went around inside where it was full of optical illusions.
After Puzzling World we made no other mentionable stops on our way to Queenstown where I signed up for lots of activities on my first days there!
