Next stop after Lake Tekapo was Christchurch, where I was going to stay for 2 weeks to do some WWOOFing – work for food and accommodation – with a family of 5. First – before going to their place – I stayed at the grandparents place, where I was helping them out by painting a room as well as a bit of a new shed and also doing a few other bits and pieces in exchange for food and accommodation as well. They had very nice house and a really big and beautiful garden.
The family of 5, that I was then WOOFing for, was Mark and Anna with their twin girls Millie and Lucy and their youngest Archie. I was a helping hand with cleaning, tidying up, looking after the children and feeding their chickens and collecting eggs every day. It was kind of a nice break from moving around and also nice to try living with a family on the countryside in NZ and to become part of their everyday life. I went with Anna and the children to all their different activities such as music and ballet.
I left the family on the 12th May and left for Kaikoura on the Kiwi Experience bus the following day.
