The time has come and I am finally in New Zealand!
To be honest, it is hard to figure out what to feel about this trip because it is all so new to me. I have never travelled so far and then completely alone! I am literally as far away from home I can get. I can’t even imagine how it is going to be. But that is what makes it so exciting!
My Mum had come over from Denmark to help send me off to New Zealand with Linnea and Mark and all had then come with me to Heathrow Airport where we would have our last dinner together before my flight. It was hard to say goodbye and it wasn’t without tears.
I flew from Heathrow Wednesday evening 18th October at 22:20 to Hong Kong. It was 11 hours and 50 minutes long. Phew, it was long! I tried to sleep at 2 o’clock’ in the morning and had given completely up 3 hours later. Let’s just say that it was not a very comfortable seat.
Eventually we landed in Hong Kong and I was on my way to the second airplane which would fly less than two hours later.
I got on board and realized that I had been lucky to get an economy skycouch seat which was far more comfortable than the previous seat and the interactive screen in front of me was so much cooler! I suddenly felt energized and ready for the second long flight.
I landed just before noon in NZ got to the home of a lovely family that I will be staying with for a little while.
